The anti-public school teacher, "parent trigger" film "Won't Back Down" is being shown by the Philadelphia School District Office of Family and Community Engagement in partnership with the Woman's Christian Alliance as part of the District's October, Parent Appreciation month. It will be screened at 440 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA in the main auditorium on Wednesday, October 15th at 6pm. Event sponsors include: Comcast Internet Essentials, GPS, and E.A.R.T.H.S.

The film showing of Won't Back Down, on October 15th, was shut down by student protesters. During their protest, the sponsor of the screening, School Reform Commission member Sylvia Simms, shouted at the students, "You must go to failing schools!" and "You belong in jail."
